Sarah was joined by seasoned pro Shaniqua Williams, who has been a part of the project from the beginning. Shaniqua has made strong connections with elders at the Mecklenburg County Senior Nutrition Centers and she and Sarah visited Rockwell AME Zion Church where members shared their deep wisdom.  Karmen Farina said, “You know, the pandemic did one thing for sure. It showed us, from family to community to state, that all we needed … in this pandemic was each other… and sometimes we need to listen to that and lean on one another like they used to do back in the olden days.” And we have heard about the difficult things. As James McCoy, Sr. shared, “It took special things away from us, whether it was people or opportunities… it was rough”
