Caroleen & Reeves Towery

Caroleen and Reeves Towery, a mother-daughter duo, share a Charlotte heritage, both born at the same local hospital.

Caroleen is a retired mechanical engineer, her diverse career spanned manufacturing, banking, and technology. She enjoys tennis, pickleball, and philanthropy as she serves on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation board of directors. During her interview, she wore a pink wig to fundraise for Carolina Breast Friends, a local nonprofit supporting breast cancer.

Reeves is now a student at NC State studying aerospace engineering. She navigated the challenges of high school during COVID, even bypassing the driving portion of getting her driver’s license. An avid runner preparing for her first marathon, Reeves discovered comfort in hobbies like running and friendship bracelets, fostering a new friend group through YMCA camp during the pandemic.

“She did not have to take a driving test. But the DMV still issued her a driver’s license at age 16” -Caroleen
