Lennin Caro

Lennin Caro is the son of two Colombian immigrants. He was born in Connecticut and transplanted to Charlotte in 2006 as a teenager. Lennin graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2018 with a master’s degree in anthropology and began teaching part-time.

In 2019, he began working at Target part-time as a member of the inbound team. Lennin reflects on how navigating teaching during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic while also managing the demands of a crucial retail role was quite challenging.

Lennin was hired as a research assistant at Camino, a local non-profit serving Latino immigrants in September of 2020. In this role, he dug into researching the pandemic’s impact on Charlotte’s Latino communities. Lennin is married and a proud new father to his first son, Aaron, who entered the world at CMC Main in downtown Charlotte in November of 2021.

“One morning I arrived around 4:00 am, and I saw that the toilet paper aisle was empty! I’ve never seen anything like that!”
